Reclaim Your Bed

Reclaim Your Bed

Start off the way you want to end up. There are very few parents who can master sleeping comfortably in their bed with a toddler in the middle. I don’t recommend this at all, but some people will have it no other way.

If you want to have your newborn in the bed with you, there is one called the nest that gives you that option, while still giving you your space. There are many co-sleeping beds on the market today, where you can have your child next to you but not in the bed with you. The co-sleeper allows you to have a first-hand visual of your child’s sleeping habits without peering through a monitor. After four months, you are ready to move the baby to their baby bed. This is where they will reside until they are 3 years old or older. Do Not, I repeat Do Not move them out of their baby bed until they are 3 years old.

When they have reached 3 years old, you can switch them to a youth bed. Be careful because this means freedom and they can start to walk to your room. If the child comes to your room, you must be disciplined enough to walk them back to their room, and not put them in the bed with you. Parenting is chess not checkers. You got this, and remember start off the way you want to end up.
